Getting the Computer Best Deals possible can seem daunting but it really isn’t. First you need to know what your minimum requirements are. Your minimum requirements are going to be based on what you are planning to do with the computer. If it is basic internet usage, email, and some word processing, then you could go with a computer that has say a 250GB hard drive, 2.2gHz processor, 2GB of RAM and you’ll be fine. If you need something that can manage multiple programs with ease and without slowing down, then you’ll want to look into a faster processor and more RAM. Knowing what you would need is the first step towards finding those Best Computer Deals.

Now that you know what you’re looking for, you want to start looking around. Your best source?? The internet. You can surf computer company websites, you can use search engines, you can go to forums and see who has what and where they got it from. You can also shop around in your home town and see who has the best prices. But beware! You don’t want to sacrifice things like a decent warranty period, tech support, etc just to get a good price. Some laptops, netbooks, and PCs may come with shorter warranty periods or require you to pay for tech support.

As far as tech support goes, you should be able to get at least one year of free tech support from the date you purchased the computer. Contrary to popular belief, simply because you are having a technical issue with your computer does not mean that you simply don’t know how to use the computer, and when that computer turns itself off and won’t turn back on, the last thing you want is to find out that tech support is going to cost you $2.95 per minute! So make sure that the company that manufactured the system will give you free tech support. It is also nice to see if the place you purchase it from offers any support, as some computer shops and websites will also offer support for your new computer as well.

Last but not least, never shortchange yourself on the warranty! Make sure that you get at least a one year warranty with your computer. If you are offered an extended warranty by the place you purchase the computer for an extra fee, purchasing that is up to you, but do not purchase a computer that states that it comes with a 6 month warranty or worse, no warranty at all! If the manufacturer does not provide a warranty, find a different computer. You shouldn’t have to pay extra for a warranty from a third party! It isn’t a deal if you’re going to pay a third party for a warranty that should come from the manufacturer.

Finding Computer Best Deals can be hard work but it will be worth it in the end. Just make sure that you cover your basics – minimum requirements, warranty, and support – and you’ll be fine.

computer best dealsAre you in the process of getting your first ever PC or buying a new one? There are many brands and models available online and in the traditional PC shops.  This can make selecting a computer a very confusing task.  You should be very careful when choosing a PC, Laptop or Netbook, as it isn’t a small investment.  There are many things to look for and avoid when selecting a computer.  Here are some top tips to use when selecting your first or new computer:

1. What is your budget? A very important start point, as this sets the boundaries of the make and model you can realistically afford.

2. Are you primarily a home user (desktop computers) or will you be needing to take the PC with you (laptop/netbook)?

3. What functionality/features do you require, within the budget you have set for yourself?  Are you looking for a basic home and office computer or a higher spec multimedia/gaming one?

4. Select a few brands by reading the computer magazines and online review sites.

5. Always check that the latest Operating System (OS) available for computers is the best one for your needs, as sometimes the latest isn’t necessarily the best!  The current Windows 7 OS is much better than Vista, but you may also be perfectly fine with using the old XP Home OS (used on many best selling Netbooks).

6. The most expensive aspect of buying a computer, apart from the device itself, is the additional software you would need, e.g. Office (word processing software), internet security or any editing software.

7. Always think about the after-sales service provided by the manufacturer and/or retailer.

So, by following the above tips and searching Computer Best Deals you can be sure to get your hands on the most appropriate computer for your needs.
